Excellent piece! Loved this -- everyone should read this before the Super Bowl. I also need to go back and watch some NFL Timeline shows! (Side note: Go Orange! Born in Utica, lived in Canastota as a kid before moving to Florida, but I still have family in Endicott and Binghamton! Glad to hear you were from there!)

I was thinking the same thing!!! Was there some payola, was there cool gifts, was it extravagant ad campaigns?
I'd have to find my notes and do some more digging, but what I remember is that it was on hospitality - so food and drink.

Thanks David! My wife and I both lived in Endicott - I started in the Plume (it's fine, I'm sure), and my wife was up on the hill in Little Italy.
