Well, it had 100 percent less made-up material than Mitch's!
But if I'm being honest, Mitch was an inspiration back then. And probably less serious more often. I didn't write about a lot of heavy topics. Really, it was just kind of a "whatever's happening in the world" kinda vibe.
One story I do remember: 9/11 was a Tuesday, so I hadn't written that week's column yet. Obviously, I skipped that week. My editor (not Pat at this point) said he was looking forward to a tough, kick-ass column about the day and our coming response, and I was just "Ummm, no, that's not ... no. That's not me."
Brian, not for a very long time. I'm sure I did at some point, but Merton is such an important figure to our community at Bona's. I do remember writing about Robert Lax, an Olean native who was Merton's best friend for years.
Looking forward to Wednesdays!
Thanks Kevin! Me too.
Man, I cannot wait for this. Awesome, Brian.
Me too, man. You've been a supporter here since Day 1 and I appreciate it so much.
Go go go! Here's to many wonderful Wednesdays!
Thanks Chris! Always appreciate your support!
Was your Wednesday similar to Mitch Albom's, or less serious more often ?

You mentioned St. Bonaventure and I wonder if you've ever written about Thomas Merton, his writing, and his time spent at St. Bonaventure?
